SALTO Systems hat für seine elektronischen XS4 Original Schmalschildbeschläge die Umwelt-Produktdeklaration (Environmental Product Declaration – kurz: EPD) des Instituts Bauen und Umwelt e.V. (IBU) erhalten.
Eine EPD beschreibt die Umweltauswirkungen von Baustoffen, Bauprodukten oder Baukomponenten über den gesamten Lebenszyklus und bildet damit eine wichtige Grundlage für die Nachhaltigkeitsbewertung von Bauwerken. Die Ausstellung einer EPD ist für Unternehmen ein international anerkannter Weg, transparent mit den Umweltauswirkungen ihrer Produkte bei Herstellung, Einsatz und Wartung umzugehen. SALTO übernimmt hierbei eine der Vorreiterrollen, indem sich das Unternehmen einer nachhaltigen und umweltbewussten Produktion verschrieben hat und bei der Entwicklung auf möglichst geringe Auswirkungen seiner Produkte auf die Umwelt achtet.
Das IBU hat in einem ersten Schritt EPDs für die Modellreihe der XS4 Original Schmalschildbeschläge ausgestellt. Die elektronischen XS4 Beschläge von SALTO kommen ohne Verkabelung aus und bilden so die Basis für vielseitige elektronische Zutrittslösungen mit einer Fülle von Funktionen. Die Beschläge gibt es in mehreren Ausführungen und Modellen, sodass sie sich für unterschiedlichste Türsituationen eignen. Sie sind mit den meisten europäischen, skandinavischen und DIN-Einsteckschlössern kompatibel.
Es ist geplant, weitere Modelle der SALTO SPACE Systemplattform mit EPDs auszustatten.
EPDs basieren auf den Normen ISO 14025 und EN 15804. Vor der Veröffentlichung durch das IBU werden die EPDs von unabhängigen Dritten auf Vollständigkeit, Plausibilität und Normenkonformität geprüft und verifiziert.
