SALTO Systems, ein weltweit führender Entwickler und Hersteller von elektronischen Zutrittslösungen, hat das britische Biometrie-Unternehmen TouchByte übernommen. TouchByte ist ein Pionier auf dem Gebiet von Gesichtserkennungssystemen für die Zutrittskontrolle.

SALTO Systems setzt auf den Einsatz biometrischer Technologie als Zukunft der Zutrittskontrolle. Die digitale Revolution verändert viele Bereiche der Gesellschaft. Digitale Ausweise, digitale Identitäten und Biometrie werden in vielen Branchen zunehmend zum Standard, wobei sich die automatische Gesichtserkennung als Schlüsseltechnologie erweist.

In den letzten zwei Jahren hat SALTO die Entwicklung von durchgängigen Zutrittssystemen durch verschiedene strategische Investitionen beschleunigt. Im Jahr 2022 hat das Unternehmen bereits den deutschen Spezialisten für Gesichtserkennungslösungen Cognitec übernommen. Mit der Integration des Flaggschiff-Algorithmus FaceVACS von Cognitec in seine Hardware wird SALTO seine Lösungskompetenz um eine ganze Reihe neuer Möglichkeiten erweitern und so die Anforderungen von Anwendern noch besser erfüllen.

Durch die Übernahme von TouchByte, einem in Cornwall (Grossbritannien) ansässigen Technologieunternehmen mit Schwerpunkt auf Gesichtserkennung, wird SALTO die Entwicklung und Markteinführung seiner ersten Lösung für die Zutrittskontrolle mit Gesichtserkennung wesentlich beschleunigen. Die Basis dafür bilden die Managementplattform und die Hardware von TouchByte, die auf dem Cognitec-Algorithmus aufsetzen.
