Schon lange ist es her, dass Frauen nur auf dem Beifahrersitz Platz nahmen oder von der Tribüne aus den waghalsigen Rennfahrern zujubelten. Heute sitzen wir selbst am Steuer, reden mit bei Design und Technik und tragen entscheidend zur Innovation und Verbesserung von Fahrzeugen bei. Frauen in der Automobilbranche spielen zunehmend eine wichtige Rolle, nicht nur als Konsumentinnen, sondern auch als Designerinnen, Ingenieurinnen und Führungskräfte. Ihre Perspektiven und Bedürfnisse unterscheiden sich oft von denen der Männer. So legen Frauen beispielsweise häufig grossen Wert auf die Sicherheitsmerkmale eines Fahrzeugs. Funktionen wie fortschrittliche Fahrerassistenzsysteme, stabile Fahrwerke und hohe Crashtest-Bewertungen sind hierbei von grosser Bedeutung.

Der Komfort und die Ergonomie des Fahrzeugs spielen ebenfalls eine wichtige Rolle. Frauen achten oft auf Details wie Sitzkomfort, einfache Bedienung und die Verfügbarkeit von Stauraum. Diese Aspekte tragen wesentlich zum Fahrerlebnis bei und können die Entscheidung für ein bestimmtes Modell beeinflussen. Elektroautos und Hybridmodelle gewinnen besonders bei Fahrerinnen an Beliebtheit. Und letzten Endes tragen ein ansprechendes Design, hochwertige Materialien und eine durchdachte Innenausstattung dazu bei, dass sich Frauen in ihrem Fahrzeug wohlfühlen und gerne damit fahren.

All diese Sichtweisen sollten bei der Einführung eines neuen Modells, von welchem Hersteller auch immer, berücksichtigt werden. Viele Automobilunternehmen haben erkannt, wie wichtig es ist, Frauen in der Branche zu fördern, denn eine vielfältige Belegschaft bringt unterschiedliche Perspektiven und Ideen mit sich, was zu innovativeren Lösungen und Produkten führt. Maserati ist hierbei ein inspirierendes Beispiel. Frauen sind beim italienischen Automobilhersteller nicht nur ein integraler Bestandteil des Unternehmens, sondern auch eine Quelle der Inspiration für alle, die nach Wegen suchen, die Geschlechtergleichheit und die Beteiligung von Frauen in allen Bereichen der Gesellschaft zu fördern.

Eine bemerkenswerte Initiative, die die Präsenz und den Einfluss von Frauen bei Maserati unterstreicht, ist das «Women Testing Team». Fünf verschiedene Maserati-Modelle standen im Rahmen des Programms zur Verfügung und sollten ausgiebig getestet werden – ob für den alltäglichen Einkauf, die Spritztour an sonnigen Tagen oder rasante Trainingsstunden auf der Balocco-Rennstrecke. 20 Tage lang nahmen die Frauen von Maserati die Modelle ganz genau unter die Lupe. Ihre frische Perspektive brachten sie anschliessend in die Entwicklung der Fahrzeuge ein, wodurch sie auch die Ideale von Vielfalt und Inklusion verkörpern, die das Unternehmen vorantreiben.

Aber die Rolle der Frauen bei Maserati beschränkt sich nicht nur auf technische Innovationen. Sie sind auch entscheidende Akteure in der Führung und im Management des Unternehmens. Durch gezielte Massnahmen zur Rekrutierung und Entwicklung von Talenten hat Maserati in den letzten Jahren einen deutlichen Anstieg des Anteils von Frauen in Führungspositionen verzeichnet, 2023 stieg er im Vergleich zum Vorjahr um ganze neun Prozent. So sind heuer 32 Prozent aller Führungskräfte weiblicher Natur. Diese Frauen bringen nicht nur ihre einzigartigen Fähigkeiten und Perspektiven ein, sondern inspirieren auch die nächste Generation von weiblichen Führungskräften in der Automobilindustrie. Darüber hinaus engagiert sich Maserati aktiv für die Förderung von Frauen in der gesamten Organisation. Das «Women2Women Mentoring»-Programm bietet Frauen die Möglichkeit, sich gegenseitig zu unterstützen und zu ermutigen, um ihre Karrieren voranzutreiben und ihr volles Potenzial auszuschöpfen. Durch diese Programme und Initiativen schafft Maserati eine Kultur der Zusammenarbeit, des Respekts und der Chancengleichheit, die die Stärken und Talente aller Mitarbeiterinnen hervorhebt.

Die Wegbereiterin für Frauen bei Maserati

Ihre Geschichte ist geprägt von Leidenschaft und Kühnheit: Maria Teresa de Filippis war die erste Frau, die sich für einen Formel-1-Grand-Prix qualifizierte – hinter dem Lenkrad eines Maserati «250F». Sie wurde 1926 in Neapel geboren und entschied sich fast als Herausforderung, in die Welt des Motorsports einzusteigen. Im Jahr 1948 nahm sie an ihrem ersten richtigen Rennen teil: Mit nur 22 Jahren gewann sie die zehn Kilometer lange Salerno-Cava de’ Tirreni, Klasse 500 ccm der Tourenwagen-Kategorie, und besiegte dabei entscheidend ihre männlichen Kollegen. Dieser erste Sieg entfachte ihre Leidenschaft für den Rennsport und im folgenden Jahr triumphierte sie in mehreren Wettbewerben in der 750-ccm-Kategorie.

Von 1953 bis 1954 wechselte sie zu einem «Osca» 1100 ccm, mit dem sie die zwölf Stunden von Pescara, den Trullo d’Oro, die Catania-Etna und die Rennen von Caserta und Syrakus gewann. 1955 wechselte Maria Teresa de Filippis zu einem Maserati «2000 A6GCS». In einem Artikel über ihre Rennjahre schrieb sie: «… ein leistungsstarkes Auto, mit dem ich dachte, ich könnte alles machen … und das tat ich», und fügte hinzu: «Armes Auto! So viele spektakuläre Unfälle, aber auch so viele Siege!» Zu den wichtigsten gehörte der Sieg beim Catania-Etna in Rekordzeit, der in den nächsten drei Jahren ungeschlagen blieb. Sie erreichte den zweiten Platz in der Meisterschaft der Klasse bis 2000 ccm von 1955.

1958 gab Maria Teresa de Filippis ihr Debüt am Steuer eines privaten Maserati «250F» beim Grand Prix von Syrakus und nahm dann an ihrem ersten Formel-1-Weltmeisterschafts-Grand-Prix in Belgien teil. Im Laufe der Jahre haben zahlreiche Frauenrennfahrer am Motorsport teilgenommen, aber nur Maria Teresa hält den einzigartigen Rekord, der nicht gebrochen oder sogar eingeholt werden kann, die erste Frau zu sein, die in der Formel 1 antrat. In einer Umgebung, die zuvor ausschliesslich von Männern geprägt war, konnte Maria Teresa herausragen, sich den Respekt und die Wertschätzung ihrer Rivalen auf dem Feld verdienen und die Werte auf die Strecke bringen, die Maserati auch heute noch leiten: Exzellenz, Eleganz und Kraft.
