GESCHÄFTSFÜHRER*IN BASEL: Frau Demenga, Sie sind Inhaberin und Geschäftsführerin der familiengeführten Demenga AG, die in der Region Basel ein etablierter Begriff als Experte für Glas und Bauglas ist. Wie war es für Sie, in einer «Glaserfamilie» aufzuwachsen?
Valérie Demenga: Schon früh entwickelte ich eine enge Verbindung zu Glas und den handwerklichen Prozessen, die dieses faszinierende Material mit sich bringt. Für mich ist Glas nicht nur ein Baustoff, sondern auch ein Teil unserer Familientradition, die über Generationen hinweg weitergegeben wurde.
Meine Ausbildung zur Glasmalerin und Kunstglaserin legte den Grundstein, um dieses alte Handwerk zu verstehen und zu schätzen. Es war spannend zu beobachten, wie sich die Technologie und die Anforderungen an Glas im Laufe der Zeit weiterentwickelt haben, sodass es heute höchste Ansprüche erfüllt. Das Familienunternehmen übernahm ich in meinen Mittzwanzigern gemeinsam mit meinem Bruder und seit einigen Jahren führe ich es alleine.

Die moderne Architektur zeigt klar, wie entscheidend Licht für die Raumgestaltung ist – und Glas erfüllt diese Anforderungen perfekt.
