Eric Granado, Archie McDonald und Oscar Gutiérrez kämpfen um die Meisterschaft – Max Toth bleibt bei Saddlemen Race Development, während sich die erste Saison ihrer entscheidenden Phase nähert. Der FIM Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup biegt auf die Zielgerade seiner Premierensaison ein. Vom 28. bis zum 30. August gastiert die Rennserie im spanischen MotorLand Aragón, wo die fünfte und damit vorletzte Runde der Meisterschaft ausgetragen wird. Vier Rennen vor Saisonende ist der Titelkampf völlig offen – erst das Finale am Red Bull Ring in Österreich wird im September die Entscheidung bringen. Nach einem spektakulären Rennwochenende in Silverstone präsentiert sich die erste Saison des Bagger World Cup spannender denn je. In bislang acht Rennen standen bereits fünf verschiedene Sieger ganz oben auf dem Podium. Entsprechend eng ist auch die Meisterschaft: Nur 19 Punkte trennen Tabellenführer Eric Granado (Joe Rascal Racing) vom Drittplatzierten Oscar Gutiérrez (Nitiracing). Dazwischen liegt Granados Teamkollege Archie McDonald, der lediglich fünf Punkte Rückstand auf den Spitzenreiter hat.
